AMERICAN ☆ CRAFT

In the year 1874 in Algonac, Michigan, Christopher Columbus Smith built a simple wooden boat for duck hunting.  He was 13.  His legacy now spans 145 years and the name Chris-Craft is recognized everywhere among the world’s finest boats. Hand-crafted from Mahogany and Teak woods and lavishly adorned with beautiful chrome and brass, these boats performed as well as they looked and would become a symbol of status and luxury to wealthy patrons such as Henry Ford, William Randolph Hearst, Katherine Hepburn, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.  During World War 2, Chris-Craft produced more than 10,000 landing craft for the US war effort and were the spearhead of the D-Day landings.

This cruiser is from the mid-fifties and features a full bath and kitchen, complete with a 2 burner stove.  Built for adventure, she must have been a beauty in her day.  Her fate, now sealed by time and awaiting her final journey I hope the skies are blue and she rests easy on distant shores.
